Property for sale in Armenia
Armenia is a former Soviet republic located in the mountainous region of the Caucasus, on both sides of Asia and Europe. Among the earliest Christian civilizations, it houses several places of devotion, including the Greco-Roman temple of Garni and the 4th-century Etchmiadzin cathedral, home to the Armenian Church. Khor Virap Monastery is a place of pilgrimage near Mount Ararat, an inactive volcano just across the border with Turkey.
Yerevan, capital of Armenia, is characterized by the sumptuous architecture of the Soviet era. The Matenadaran, which houses thousands of ancient Greek and Armenian manuscripts, dominates the main avenue. Republic Square is the core of the city, with musical water fountains and government buildings with colonnades.
Armenia is bordered by Turkey to the north, the independent Republic of Artsakh and Azerbaijan to the east, and Iran and Azerbaijan's exclave of Nakhchivan to the south.
